iPhone 13 Camera with in depth Analysis

The iPhone 13’s camera module is slightly larger than the 12 (shown here)

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new iPhone’s ultra-wide-angle camera will be upgraded to f / 1.8, 6P (six-element lens). He has also said that the ultrawide cameras on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will feature autofocus.

We hope the camera module itself doesn’t change drastically, if at all, from the module seen on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11, aside from a slight increase in size. As for the cameras themselves, the zoom camera is likely to make a comeback, along with the main camera and the aforementioned ultra-wide camera.

In December 2020, Korean media confirmed rumors that Apple will acquire iPhone periscope zoom components from Samsung. However, it is currently expected that the results of this partnership will not be seen before the iPhone 14.

On January 9, 2021, a report based on supply chain information stated that iPhone 13 camera updates and updated FaceID settings were expected. The updates in question are said to include a “narrower” TrueDepth camera, which could also mean a smaller notch above the new iPhone’s screen.

A later report (February 2, 2021) from Barclays analysts noted a major camera update for the entire Apple iPhone 2021 family, notably improved ultra-wide camera capabilities. The iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max may have an f / 1.8 aperture ultra-wide camera, up from f / 2.4 on the iPhone 12 series. This was also previously predicted by Kuo, as mentioned above.

Apple could also bring an astrophotography feature, which will take clear photos of the night sky, including the stars and the moon.

The leakers have also mentioned the addition of portrait mode video recording. After recording a video in iPhone portrait mode, users will be able to change the depth of field of the video as they like. The effect will blur foreground or background objects according to user preference.

While some leaks have said that all iPhone 13 models will feature a LiDAR scanner, others have suggested that only iPhone 13 Pro models will have LiDAR. Additionally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini were leaked to feature larger camera bumps and larger sensors, which we can reasonably expect to be the case with all new iPhone models.
