The aim in life or Purpose of Life

There is a big difference between “Aim in life” and “Purpose of Life”. The aim in life is so materialistic where the Purpose of life is mental, social, and spiritual. Our aim can be a doctor, engineer or any kind of good professionals in our life. The aim in life does not have any restrictions, responsibilities in its way. The only aim is to be something that we wanted no matter right or wrong, ethical or unethical, good or bad. The aim in life can be achieved both legal and illegal way.

But the purpose of life is way different from the aim in life. It is the more ethical, social, right thing, lawful activities than aim. The only purpose of our life is to be a good person by heart and soul. There is no space for fakes, dishonesty, chaos, unethical activities but doing the right thing in life. We confuse this ‘goal’ and ‘purpose’. We think that the ‘goal’ of our life is the ‘purpose’ of our life. From birth, family, school, society, and the state set our ‘goals’ Aim in Life. We spend our whole lives thinking of that goal as life. But that’s wrong very much wrong.

The goal – to make us just professionals.

Purpose – to make us good people (good professionals, of course).

When a ‘purposeless’ person reaches his ‘goal’, he has nothing left to do then despair is swallowed. That frustration turned him into a mental patient. The whole journey of life seems meaningless to him. Then some people become addicted to drugs, some people commit suicide. 

Ernest Hemingway, the American writer who won the Nobel Peace Prize, Robin Williams, the actor who won the Oscar, or Chester Bennington, the popular singer. The ‘goal’ is achieved at some point in life, but the ‘purpose’ continues until the last breath. In a life driven by purpose – there is no room for despair. We should run towards the purpose, not the goal (Aim in Life).
